The Roads, Transport, and Public works cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has today directed the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to suspend all operations of Modern Coast Express Limited with immediate effect following a road accident that occured on the 28th of December 2022.
The accident occurred at River Masosa, Makutano Junction, Kisii County left one dead and others injured.
Following the 28th December accident, I have directed NTSA to suspend all operations of the Modern Coast bus company with immediate effect, as investigations into the accident continue..
The CS also ordered the bus company to ensure all passengers who had booked with the company are facilitated to allow for safe and seamless travel to their destinations.
This suspension comes barely a month after Modern Coast resumed operations following a suspension over River Nithi accident on 24th July 2022 which left 36 people dead and others injured.
