A bus belonging to Tahmeed Coach burst into flames as it was ferrying passengers from Nairobi heading for Mombasa.
The fire outbreak occurred at Manyani trading centre near Voi town in Taita Taveta County. According to preliminary reports, all 42 passengers that were travelling in the bus were safely evacuated.
Speaking after the incident, Voi Sub-County Police Commander Bernastein Shari stated that no casualties were reported following the incident, which occurred around 4:30 pm.
The bus belonging to Tahmeed Bus Company with 42 passengers on board was heading to Mombasa from Nairobi.. all the passengers in the bus managed to escape from the burning bus
The incident comes at a time when cases of vehicles especially buses and long distance trucks hit by fire outbreaks along the highway continue to rise.
The bus company had however not issued a statement regarding the accident and travel plans for the evacuated passengers.
