Did you know that SGR travel will soon be more expensive than normal bus travel between Mombasa and Nairobi.? This comes after Kenya Railways official announcement that Makadara Express Passenger Service Economy Class will cost Ksh.1000 (one way) effective 1st May 2018.
This travel cost increase by Kenya Railways will make the use of SGR more expensive compared to bus travel because of the following reasons;
- The SGR station is not found in Mombasa town adding extra travel cost
- SGR trains are not destined to towns such as Mtwapa & Ukunda unlike with buses hence one incurres extra travel cost
